Angle House: Modern Home in McLean Virginia

Modern Home in McLean, VA

This modern home was designed to take advantage of the site’s natural contours, views, sun orientation and existing landscape. The challenge was to accomplish all these goals and create privacy from the surrounding homes and street.

The main level features an open concept floor plan. The entry flows into both the grand dining room and the central area, dedicated to the kitchen, breakfast and a double height great room that opens to a large outdoor deck with picturesque views of the expansive backyard.

The entire main level angled section of the home is dedicated to a home office and private master suite with large floor to ceiling windows that capture amazing views of the landscape and existing mature trees. The rest of the angled space contains an expansive custom his/her walk-in closet, a master bath with a rainfall shower and a free-standing soaking tub with his/her vanities

The upper level of our modern home design features three generously sized bedrooms with full baths and closets with a full-size laundry room with plenty of storage space.

The lower level of our modern home design also features a guest bedroom with a full bath and walk-in closets amenities. It also includes an expansive recreational room with a glass enclosed wine cellar. To finish off the lower level, there is a full exercise room paired with a full bath with direct access to the outdoor terrace and with plenty of storage space.

Overall, the goal was to work with the natural qualities of the site and create a home that feels like a sanctuary.
